As of the 2025 swap, we have implemented a strict rule against the use of generative AI imagery in moodboards. Prior to the 2025 swap, you will find some moodboards in these galleries featuring such content; these participants broke no rule, because none existed at the time. We keep these moodboards displayed, despite this change in policy, for the sake of the dice made to go with them, as that is the work of very skilled humans worth celebrating. Seeing how a maker interpreted a moodboard and created dice based off of it is the fun part of browsing these galleries, and participants who made dice for a moodboard containing AI imagery deserve to be a part of that celebration of their very real, very human creation just as much as everyone else.

Runners of these swaps (and the Dicemakers Guild as a whole) deeply value and respect human artists; we are human artists! We believe the pushback on generative AI is not only valid, but necessary; this technology has proven harmful to human society, the integrity of creative spaces, and the environment itself. (Articles/posts like this or this can explain specifics, if you're unfamiliar!)

When we know better, we do better; many of us in years past were simply ignorant to the scope of that harm, and learning better has fully redefined what is tolerable. We ask that you browse prior swaps with this in mind, and extend grace to the participants who involved AI content, knowing our standards moving forward have evolved.

All swaps from 2025 and beyond will uphold an unwavering No-AI policy, with no exceptions. ♡
